Taihu Basin is one of the most developed region in China.Flood disaster was the main natural disaster during the past decades the water conservancy situation and its function in flood control in the basin was analyzed in this paper By summarizing the flood control experiences the author puts forward some idea about flood control of water conservancy in new situations.Finally, the flood disaster mitigation goal and controlling countermeasures of Taihu Basin were given.
